I can't believe we are creeping up on August already.... as always, summer is flying by! But it's no wonder with portraits and wedding season in full swing!

Let's take a peek at this season's wedding opener!

Venue: Casa Larga Vineyards - Fairport, NY
Weather: Amazing!

{this is significant because the times I have photographed weddings here before the weather has always been awful - including SNOW in MAY one time}

Katherine is the sister of a bride I had back in 2007, and it is SO flattering to be invited back! With a Friday evening wedding, they only needed a few hours of coverage to capture all of these amazing images!

Do you watch Food Network's show "Challenge"? Do you think the groom looks like chef Keegan Gerhard?? All day I felt like I was photographing Keegan, haha

Such beautiful sun for the ceremony!

The awesome venue - Casa Larga is really one of my favorites! It is beautiful inside & out, the food is fantastic, and the staff really knows how to take care of an event.

A few of the formals! We only spent about 20 minutes with the bridal party and couple. We can be very productive in a short amount of time!

Reception time! Toasts, dancing, cake, details!!

We caught the VERY last moment of sun before it dipped below the horizon. *Sigh* love this image so much!

Newborn Baby Art has it's main focus on capturing baby at sleepy moments while incorporating unique props and set ups. Every session has it's own style and even some photo ops for a few family shots! Since these sessions call for a sleepy baby, they are best accomplished at 7-14 days of age.

It's always exciting to try out new props in the studio, makes for a fresh and beautiful look!

When Baby takes a peek at what we are up to, it's priceless...

Generally I recommend family wear black shirts, and it’s a timeless look that flatters everyone while highlighting the new bundle so well!

Newborn Family Portraits {rochester, ny portrait photographer}

Newborn baby art requires a 2-3 hour session, lots of patience, and getting to the studio within 2 weeks of baby arriving. Not every family wants to make that kind of commitment, and that's ok! Schedule a family session instead!


A unique idea to make your session your own is to bring a prop that has special meaning. Gramma made this adorable giraffe and it was a must to include!



Some poses with just Mom and Baby or Dad and Baby are a must when they are this tiny and new!





Fast asleep shots are the best and can be the most difficult to capture!



A family portrait is a must when a new bundle arrives... Black and white make it an instant classic and client favorite!



So whether a Newborn Art Session is in your plans or a Family Session is more your style, when your tiny miracle arrives just make it all matter and come on in!

Hey everyone! I have been thinking about a good way to keep in touch with my awesome clients about News, Specials, and all things D'Marie. Since not everyone is on Facebook or Twitter (gasp, say it isn't so!) I'll post things here on the blog!


What’s New at D’Marie Photography?

STAFF
A few months ago, I added my first worker-bee (besides myself of course).
Meet Jen!

She takes care of blogging, will be tweeting from weddings this summer, helps with marketing, and handles styling and assisting at weekend sessions! Especially helpful for sessions with busy little ones, having Jen along lets me focus on getting the shot while she takes care of keeping them entertained!

She is also a rock-star at making sessions pop with color and picking the right props to complete the look, and she does most of the artwork for the chalkboard wall!


BACKDROPS
Speaking of chalkboard wall.... it's a really fun new background option in the studio!


New graphic fabric options are also being added over the course of the spring, and some will be saved just for Seniors class of 2013!

I am really excited to have been invited back to photograph the Olympia High School musical again this year! I'll be on location 3/24 for the matinee performance and cast photos.


Also coming up is a unique event called Tartan Day, celebrating all things Scottish! I'll be on location 4/14 hosting a Photo Booth.
