Baby A: 1 Year Portraits & Cake Smash

Today was a combination session for our little man A. This is a family I met in 2007 when I photographed their wedding. In 2008 I got to do the maternity session. And now in 2009 it was time for his 1 year portraits and cake smash!

He didn't get much of a nap today and he wasn't giving up smiles easily!



We snuck a few out of him after MUCH hard work!





We hoped once we got to the cake smash part, he'd be grinning from ear to ear. Boy were we wrong! Our first CRYING OVER SMASHED CAKE, lol!!

Baby N: Newborn

I just got home from an on-location newborn shoot with TINY little baby N. She was not happy about being out of her clothes despite the 80 degree weather. She was a trooper though and we got some beautiful shots!!

New Props

I have 2 exciting new studio props!!

This one I'm hoping to use at a newborn session on Friday evening... a baby girl who is only 4 1/2 pounds!! Won't she be adorable laying in this callalily??



And this one I've been trying to find for a long time and I finally got one! It's an oversized teacup which will be great for pets and babies at about 6 months old! If you want to use either of these at your next session, just let me know!!

Brooke & Tony: Wedding

I had a great time on Saturday 2nd shooting a wedding with Chelse from Glow Photography! "Second shooting" is just what it sounds like - I was the 2nd photographer at the event, which allows me to capture more candid moments. It's so much fun because you don't have the pressure like you do when you're the main photographer!

The wedding and reception were at the same GORGEOUS location- Inn on Broadway downtown. Everything about the day was just beautiful.

The ceremony was set up different than most- just a few rows of seats, and the rest of the guests stood in the back. This little girl came from the crowd and kept inching closer to get a good view. It's was so cute!


They had PEEPS decked out in bridal outfits as the cake topper, lol:

Ming: Pet Portraits

It was a very busy saturday with a pet portrait session and a wedding!

Let's start with the pet portraits... this is Ming, a 10 week old Shitzu. Isn't she adorable?? It's the 2nd time I've had the opportunity to work with dogs in the studio and I really enjoy it. If you know someone looking for pet portraits, either by themselves or along with the rest of the family, send them my way!

Cake Smash... well just cake for now

Tomorrow we were going to have a cake smash, but the poor little guy is terribly sick!! We've rescheduled to later in the month. I did however pick up a super cute polka dot cake today and it seems a shame to waste it so here are a few photos anyways :-)

Jaime: Maternity

Today was a mini maternity session with Jaime. You may recognize her from her wedding last year that I was priviledged to shoot. It's always fun to work with familiar faces! Jaime already has 2 beautiful boys, and this time she's expecting a girl! I can't wait to meet her at the newborn session, which I'll be doing in their home. On-location sessions are a great option particularly for newborns- I understand now how hard it is to get out of the house in those first few weeks!

If you're looking to have a session but the economy is cramping your style... ask about a mini session! It's not as fancy as a full session, but I promise you'll still get images you'll love without breaking the bank.

4/10: This week in pictures

New mommies like to hang out with other new mommies- they understand if you have to cancel plans last minute because it's just not a good day and they understand why you can't get together until 2pm because you're still in pj's any earlier, lol.
