{ Christa & Chris Wedding } rochester, ny modern wedding photographer

Christa & Chris are the kind of couple that know who they are, even at a young age. They translated that into their wedding down to the last detail. Casual, relaxed, intimate, and earth friendly. It was a special day and I really enjoyed capturing it for them.

It took place at a family cottage on Canandaigua Lake. The ceremony was personal and emotional, truly beautiful.

With no bridal party, we were able to devote all of the formal time to just bride & groom images. We drove a few miles down the road and found the most amazing locations to work with. Some of my favorite shots EVER!

So many gorgeous details, here are just a few:

Christa & Chris- what a fabulous day, thanks again for having me along. I know you'll have a lifetime of happiness ahead of you!

{ Cathy & Chuck Wedding } rochester, ny wedding photographer

Our weather here is always a little unpredictable... but on May 8th it was extra ridiculous! I had the priviledge of photographing Cathy & Chuck's wedding that day, and although it was a bummer that we couldn't be outside for any photos, they had gorgeous venues lined up and we had lots of fun!

Now, I have to tell you that Chuck works for ROWE PHOTO. Talk about pressure for me, photographing for someone who knows soooo many photographers! But it was such an honor to be entrusted with capturing their day. Big thanks to my friend Chelse for coming along to help out as well.

First the ceremony at St. Anne's on Mt. Hope Avenue. A photographer's dream with lots of light, wide aisles, and a balcony!

Cathy's expression is priceless as she makes eye contact with Chuck at the end of the aisle!

This is the essence of their relationship, love it!

Off to Chelse's studio downtown for some formals. One of my favorite bridal party group shots ever!

Some time with just the bride & groom:

Then on to Eastview Mall to ride the carousel, yay!!

In addition to the regular limo, they had rented an antique car. By time we arrived at Casa Larga for the reception it was SNOWING... we really wanted to do some shots with the car but it was so windy and cold (um, they're bracing themselves so they don't blow away!) that we just got this one. They were troopers!

A few of the beautiful details.

Inside the wine shop they have some beautiful paintings that made for a nice backdrop!

It was fun you guys, thanks again for having me come along! Hope you're having a fabulous time on your honeymoon!!

{ 1 year portraits & cake smash } rochester, ny baby photographer

I have been photographing this little lady since she was just a bump in mommy's belly and now she's ONE! I can't believe it!!

All cake smash sessions now include some traditional portraits first. She wasn't sure about things at first... I think she's debating throwing that strawberry at me, lol

Guess she decided to eat it instead. This one cracks me up :-)

We put her on the bench with ducky next to her, and she scooped him right up. Love at first sight!

Moving on to the cake smash... mom wasn't sure how it would go because at her party she wasn't interested in cake at ALL. Surprisingly, she didn't want the cake or buttercream frosting, but LOVED the fondant dots & flowers! Go figure!

I love every single frame so it was hard to pick some to blog, but here are a few:

And a big thanks to Simply Sweets for making the fantastic matching cake!

{ Family Portraits } rochester, ny modern family portrait photographer

You may remember this beautiful little mommy-to-be from a few months ago:

Well, their beautiful little baby girl arrived 5 weeks ago and they were in for a new family portrait mini session!

Babies can tell when they are in a new environment, so even if your baby usually sleeps the day away, that might not be the case at the studio. This little lady was not happy to be participating in her photoshoot sans clothes & diaper, and in a mini session there isn't as much time to wait for the perfect moment. But I really love these next two images because they show that amazing bond baby has with both mom & dad in a way I might not otherwise have captured. These are just natural moments of them providing some comfort.

Safe in daddy's arms!!

It was really great to see you guys again! Next time you're in town let me know... 6 month portraits will be here before you know it! :-)
